Quincy lies along the south shore just minutes from downtown Boston. It is the 8th largest city in Massachusetts and has been often known as “The City of Presidents” as it was the birthplace of two U.S. presidents both John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
Many different areas make up Quincy, all different is size and offerings. From secluded island like locations like Squantum, Marina Bay, Hough’s Neck or Germantown to the more urban location of Quincy Center along the Red Line T offering numerous retail establishments, there is certainly something for everyone.
Quincy has a long history for industry. At first, Quincy was home to a granite industry followed by the commercial railroad industry. Shipbuilding also played a big part in what the town was noted for. In more recent years, Quincy was the founding town to both Howard Johnson’s as well as Dunkin Donuts.
